Solida Holz GmbH is FSC-certified

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) is an independent, nonprofit nongovernmental organization that has been working for over 25 years to ensure environmental and social standards in forests. The organization was founded in Rio de Janeiro in 1993 and is now represented in over 80 countries.

 Through globally recognized standards and the involvement of all relevant stakeholders, the FSC® promotes more sustainable forest management. Its mission is to ensure that forests are used and managed in a more environmentally friendly, socially responsible, and ecologically sustainable manner. The goal is to avoid overburdening the ecosystem and to harvest timber from forests in a way that minimizes impact.

By maintaining our FSC® certification, we as a company are authorized to offer our customers FSC®-certified products. We can therefore provide FSC®-certified goods upon request, which are also labeled accordingly. The FSC® label is intended to clearly indicate to customers that the product was made from sustainably sourced wood.

To ensure this, the Chain of Custody (COC) was introduced as a tool for identifying product chains. This chain of evidence is intended to transparently document the process from the forest to the end customer. FSC®-certified materials must be clearly identifiable throughout the entire process.

In Germany, approximately 4,000 companies hold FSC® certification, including Solida Holz GmbH. The framework for certification is defined by the FSC®’s 10 principles and 70 criteria, which apply worldwide. These principles include, among other things, the preservation or improvement of working conditions and labor rights, minimizing environmental impact to ensure the long-term conservation of forests, and the protection of indigenous peoples. Based on these criteria and principles, each country develops a national FSC® standard, to which Solida Holz GmbH is also committed.
